Biography
Veronica has been acting since age five. Ever since her first play as a five year old, she has loved acting. "For my third play, I was a six-year-old or so kindergarten student, and when I didn't get the role I wanted because I was absent for the auditions, I cried." she laughs. "Luckily I don't take things that hard anymore."
By the time she was seven, Veronica, her cousin, and sometimes her younger brother would perform plays unscripted. "I remember getting all dressed up in my mom's pink robe to play the part of Wendy in our Peter Pan plays." she says. "I remember doing this one the most."
At age eight, Veronica was writing plays. "I remember writing a Star Wars type play about these kids in space who had to battle aliens and what not. I read it recently and my literature wasn't the best, but I've defiantly improved my writing!" However, she never completed the play nor performed it. Also at age eight, Veronica began taking after acting lessons at her school aside from her during school lessons, and appeared in several plays. "We did everything. Everything from musicals like Annie to a Christmas play you've probably never heard of, because I even forgot the name!" she smiles.
By age nine, Veronica first appeared in a role on camera. However, this was only a play she and her cousins wrote, filmed, and acted in. "We alternated filming and acting," she said. "We'd mainly do commercials and skits." Today skits are still one of Veronica's favorite aspect of performing arts.
Veronica continued after school acting until sixth grade. "I got too busy with school to take" She sighs. Although she stopped acting after school, Veronica never stopped during school acting. "Even though we were required to take it as a class, I loved it." In six grade at age twelve, Veronica was selected as a narrator in a play. "I was upset because I didn't get the part I wanted because I was too tall. I really didn't want to be a narrator, because no acting is really involved." However, Veronica was selected because of her loud, clear voice, and ability to quickly memorize lines. "I knew some of my lines memorized before I was even chosen for a role."
Then in seventh grade at age thirteen, Veronica hit the role as Cinderella's step sister, Lucinda in her school's musical, Into the Woods. "I was so excited because I got my first choice of part. I really wanted to be someone totally different from me, because I'm the quietest person most people have ever met, until I come on a set, then I come alive," she begins "And the stepsisters were loud, vain, and snotty, which involved a major acting challenge for me." For her role, Veronica won the acting award for the musical. "I was so ecstatic over this," she laughs.
Now Veronica is going into eighth grade. "I'm disappointed because at my school eighth graders don't take acting as a class. However, I'm really looking forward to high school because we do even bigger productions."
